This site is currently under construction, so please bear with me.

First of all you'll be asking me where I got the daft name for this site. Well it's from a children's book' Captain Underpants,' which generates a funny name for you, using your real name. The day a friend sent me the Captain Underpants name game happened to coincide with a time when I was looking for something catchy to call my (as yet unwritten) site and the name Loopy Banana just rang all sorts of bells with me (yes, I hear bells all the time)!

Anyway, I guess you're wondering what this site is all about.... Actually the site started with the name, and not a lot else, but with a name like 'Loopy Banana,' I *had* to put something humourous here!

It often seems to me when I read the papers or watch the news, or just listen to freinds talk, that life can be pretty unkind, and the pace of life itself appears to have increased so that stress levels are higher than people can cope with. A wise woman once told me that when life is horrid to you, you either laugh or cry. I figure that it's better by far to laugh. Modern scientific opinion has recently proven that laughter really is good for you. Apparently, when you laugh, your brain releases beneficial chemicals called endorphines which are like nature's Prozac, so sitting down with a video of your favourite sitcom, or spending time with a quick-witted friend can actually have a beneficial effect on your health, not to mention just plain making you feel good.

It strikes me that the world can be a horrid place sometimes, so I'd like Loopy Banana to be an antidote to all that negativity. I want it to be a place for me to share things which make me laugh, or just make me feel happy. These can be stories, quotes, jokes, pictures, other sites etc. Perhaps the best description of my aims for the site is for it to be a cross between IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE and AIRPLANE!
Maybe you won't always laugh out loud, but I hope that what's contained here can at least make you smile.

Now as I said before, this is a very rough and ready version of the site, because I'm very new to this web authoring lark. Up until recently programming the VCR has been my greatest technical challenge! However, I'm working on it, and hopefully you'll see this site grow and improve in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime, if anyone has any comments or suggestions about the site (polite ones only please), email me.
