The Loopy Gallery

Ever since Nana bought me my first camera when I was about eight(yes they did have a few cameras waaaay back then) I have displayed a keen interest in (though not necessarily talent for) taking the odd snap. I'm not brilliant, but (unlike Dad) I usually manage to get shots which don't feature headless relatives, or groups of interesting feet!

When photographing people, I've always preferred taking pictures which are spontaneous, where possible. I always hated the staged poses, with forced grins and tense shoulders, and everyone on their best behaviour. I will always aim for the candid shot if I can (though that's often hard with an ancient manual SLR, with which it takes about half an hour to meter the light)! Maybe that's why I like landscapes best of all. They don't twitch and fidget while you're setting up the shot, nor do they pull faces, or walk away just as you press the shutter (like my cats do).

Here then are some pictures which make me smile, or simply make me feel that the world is a pretty good place to live in.
